Championing advocacy.

We believe that patients and care partners should be active participants in the research and clinical landscape — not just subjects of it.

That’s why we work to ensure the patient voice is included in every stage of the research process, from shaping trial design to supporting enrolment and awareness.

Our founders and community members bring lived experience and insight to major global and UK-based initiatives. Here are just a few of the ways we’re helping drive change:

Cancer Grand Challenges’ Team CANCAN

Our co-founder Yvonne Diaz serves as a patient representative on Team CANCAN, part of Cancer Grand Challenges — an ambitious global initiative tackling the toughest problems in cancer. Team CANCAN is focused on the role of cancer cachexia (wasting) and aims to develop better strategies for its treatment and prevention.

Cardiotoxicity and lung cancer collaboration

Yvonne also contributes to a research collaboration addressing cardiotoxicity in cancer treatments. Working alongside Dr Alexander Lyon, consultant cardiologist and clinical lead for the cardio-oncology service, at the Royal Brompton Hospital and other esteemed researchers, this initiative seeks to advance research and initiatives that protect the heart health of people undergoing cancer treatment.

The SPACETIME trial - Spatially decoding lung cancer

Our co-founder Jan Clark represents patients on the innovative SPACETIME clinical trial, a European study using advanced spatial imaging to better understand and treat lung cancer. Her input helps ensure that trial design and communications remain relevant, inclusive, and centred around real-world patient needs.

Representing the Patient Voice in Industry

We believe real progress happens when patients are included from the start. Our team regularly participates in pharmaceutical and biotech advisory boards and is invited to speak at industry events and conferences. In both roles, we represent the patient voice and speak on everything from patient journeys, clinical trials, and treatment strategies that truly reflect the needs and realities of people living with lung cancers.

By showing up in these spaces, we help ensure the patient voice isn’t just included—it’s influential.

As champions of advocacy, we also have a three-part series to encourage patient advocates to get more involved. You can learn more and watch the episodes on this page here.
